The Gala Night Awards by the UMP Fashion and Cape Maclear International Film Festival officially kicked off yesterday at Kweza Arts in Lilongwe, attracting a vibrant mix of artists, designers and entertainment stakeholders. The event celebrated outstanding achievements in fashion, film and creative arts.
Some of the notable public figures in attendance included fashion powerhouses Qanary and Rich Baby, both multi-award-winning designers, alongside the popular A’bale clothing brand, which continues to make waves in Malawi’s fashion industry.
The night was further elevated by a soulful performance from acoustic musician Theophilus, whose set captivated the audience and added a unique artistic flair to the ceremony.
The gala continues to position itself as a key platform for celebrating artistic excellence and promoting Malawi’s creative economy.
