The Ministry of Education in collaboration with the Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB), have released the Primary School Leaving Certificate (PSLC) and JCE results.
Speaking during a press briefing at Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe yesterday, MANEB Executive Director Professor Dorothy Nampota, said there has been an increase in percentages for the pass rate this year, compared to 2024Â for JCE candidates.
“In comparison to 2024, the overall pass rate has increased by 6.41% in 2025; moving from 71.20% to 77.61%, while the males and females pass rates have increased by 5.92% and 6.94% respectively,” she said.
Nampota said out of the 158,451 candidates that sat for this examination, 122,977 have passed, which represents a 77.61% pass rate. From the 76,916 males that sat for the examination, 63,058 have passed and this represents an all-male pass rate of 81.98%.
Out of the 81,535 females that sat for the examination, 59,919 have passed and this represents an all-female pass rate of 73.49%.
