At least 125 people who are struggling with hunger at Sengabay in the area of Senior Chief Maganga in Salima district can now afford a sigh of relief following a donation of maize by the Kunyumba Trust.
Speaking during the donation, Kunyumba Trust Managing Director Kettie Abrahim Banda says they noted with concern that many people are struggling with hunger in the area, and the donation is one way of addressing their predicament.
“We decided to distribute to poor families so that they can have food, since things in the country are very expensive and difficult for them to access,” she said.

One of the beneficiaries, Titha Saidi, commended the Kunyumba Trust for the gesture, citing that they are in dire need of food assistance.
“I am very happy with what the Kunyumba Trust has done for us; we ask God to continue blessing them so that they should do the same for others,” Saidi said.
The Kunyumba Trust is a nonprofit organization, and it was established to support the less privileged people and different types of vulnerable children, whether disabled, suffering from medical problems, orphaned, or from difficult home situations.
