Salima District Health Office has revealed that it has registered increased number of people accessing family planning methods in the district.

Officer in charge of family planning services at Simayiwa Clinic, Martha Mwanja has told Love FM that people are now recognizing the importance of modern family planning methods unlike in the past.

“After conducting series of trainings with communities, people now are coming in large numbers which is good thing to the nation,” She explained.

However, Joseph Samalani, a resident of Salima, noted that many people, especially men, still harbor misconceptions about modern family planning methods.

He suggested that the health sector should conduct more sensitization campaigns to address these misconceptions.

“People need to be well-informed about modern family planning methods because they are beneficial and can help control population growth,” Samalani said.

Ministry of Health, provides family planning methods free of charge in all its hospitals.
